Can anyone tell me an experience working from home and give me some suggestion please?

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

I really need money for my tuition now, so I am thinking about working from home, but I scare it might be a scam. Therefore, did anyone experience it, and can you give me some suggestion about some online job website?

Thanks a lot!

Paid employment from home is totally different to home- based business. Be clear what you want.
Most "work from home"offers turn out to be fraudulent. Good rule of thumb- if it doesn’t make sense for a bona-fide employer to hire you to do the job in your house- eg data inputting or telephone reception- its probably not legit. if it involves processing money for a foreign firm, run.
If it is a home- based business offer, reputable firms are generally members of the Direct Selling association
Hope this helps- email if you have questions @ yahoo.com

Has working from home caused you to become stir crazy and unproductive?

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

A year ago I started my own business and it has gone very well. I’ve been working from home. However, I often get extremely stir crazy because I’m sitting in my small, extra bedroom doing my work. Then I find it easy to get distracted and thus end up working longer than I need to. I am thinking about renting a small office. Have you had the same experience?

No but I have been doing it for 20 years :)

Is 50k a year for a permanent job with benefits working from home good?

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

I recently started working for a US-based web company as a social media manager and that’s the offer I got: 50k yearly salary +bonus with benefits, working from home all the time, flexible schedule. I live in Montreal and I was wondering if that’s a good deal compared to other jobs.

Well it really matters; I mean by no means is 50k bad, a lot of well educated people are making less. But do you have a degree? If you don’t then you hit a jackpot with that, if you do then that’s around average. I know one of my teacher from High school that I’m now friends with makes 35-40k A year, and is 100% content with it, lives in a small house in phoenix, has a dog, has a yard, no debt. It really boils down to what you need to live and satisfy the lifestyle you want to live.

Wednesday, October 5th, 2011

How can i earn money from working from home? I lost my job and need some income coming in. Any ideas would be apreciated. Thanks

One of the growing work at home businesses is the virtual call center.

Read this MSNBC’s article on this industry http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7739611/ns/business-us_business/t/call-center-agents-without-call-centers/#.TknJns1lYjw

AOL also published an article about virtual call centers, and named it as one of the best work at home jobs http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2011/01/27/work-from-home-jobs-for-retirees/

Some companies where you can apply

Alpine Access http://www.alpineaccess.com = no fees and you will be considered as an employee, not as an independent contractor

LiveOps http://www.liveops.com/ = considers agents as independent contractors; no upfront fee but requires applicants to pay for the background check

Of course, you can also choose to start your own business from home. It will depend on what you can do, what suits you and what could fit in your resources. Some examples

Best Businesses Using Craft or Physical Skills
- antique restoration
- auto detail service
- carpet cleaning business
- errand/delivery service
- housecleaning business

Best Service Businesses

What clothes do you wear when working from home?

Friday, August 12th, 2011

When your working from home what kind of clothes to you wear? Do you wear shirt and trousers or pyjamas or semi naked in boxer shorts? The reason I ask is because clothes can have some affect on your mental being when working. For example, working in PJ’s can make the person lazy and more relaxed and wouldn’t want to work but instead browse the internet.

experts on such subjects suggest not wearing pajamas for exactly the reasons you cited. dressing in work-like clothes does indeed put a person in the right frame of mind. i have also heard it suggested that one ‘commute’ to work – get ready for work, then go take a walk (around the block, down the street and back, whatever) and when you arrive at back at your house, you are arriving at work, and should be in the proper frame of mind to do so.

john t. reed, who has published books on running a home-based real estate business and working from home, says that one benefit of working from home is wearing what you want – he says he usually wears jeans and a casual button-up shirt.

i used to work with some medical transcriptionists who worked largely from home (they just had to come in to work to pick up/drop off jobs and attend meetings) and they seemed to subscribe to the ‘anything but pajamas’ school of thought as well.

so, wear whatever is comfortable, but still puts you in a ‘working’ frame of mind.

How realistic is working from home through computers?

Saturday, May 21st, 2011

All the time we see so many adverts about working from home and they show very lucrative offers.
Is it real or just scams? If something real, what type of work we have to do and does it worth to make some extra cash? Please help before I become a victim of any scam in recession period. Thanks

There are many great methods of making money from your computer using marketing on the internet. I would suggest having a look at the Warrior Forum – the posts on there are fairly well moderated, and I use it to search for reviews on new internet marketing products that seem to good to be true. Often one or two members will buy a product and provide an honest review of the product (without giving away the contents), so you can save a lot of time and bother. Also, there are many opportunities for sale and free on the forum – these are nearly all of high quality and very reasonable cost. Again, you can read the members reviews before buying, which is really useful.

I no longer work from home but when I was a single mom I did, for several years. I am very knowledgeable on this topic because I spent 6 years researching and investigating over 50 work at home options. I have published articles, guides and reviews on this topic. I am happy to share some information that will help guide you in the right direction as well as give you the websites for a couple companies I have found to be more than reputable. However, no matter what, lesson number one is always do your due diligence. Thoroughly research any company you are considering and ask questions!

People are looking for work from home and the biggest problem is they don’t understand that there really are no work at home JOBS other then remote call center work. This is a viable option but there are some significant down sides to this. You are required to pay a fee, usually about $50, for a credit and background check, and if you don’t meet their criteria you will be out that $50 bucks. Also you have to have a 100% quiet work environment and the pay is pretty low. Most people are not able to make more than $100 a week at best. With all these negatives there are a couple legit call center jobs you can do from home and I will cite them in my profile to the left. However, most people aren’t looking for call center work.

The best way to earn an income from home would be to open your own legitimate home business. Small home businesses have increased in the last 5 years by about 200%. The best home businesses to start are those with a proven plan in place like Avon or Mary Kay however if you are like me, you are not interested in pushing products so let’s skip that.

Legitimate small home businesses should have a small cost involved but be careful, all the scams will be charging too so KNOW the business. Talk to a REAL person and ask questions. Less than $150 – $200 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $600 – $1000 or more. If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are in the end. (For those who want a home business for free, rethink that idea. I’ve never seen any business, home or not, that was free to own. If every business was free, everyone would have one.)

Alright so here are some things to look for in a home business. Ask the following questions and MAKE SURE you have a real person to talk to. If you can’t get a real person on the phone, walk away.

1. Are you rated with the BBB? (They should have C or better. Just because they have complaints or not a perfect A rating, doesn’t mean they aren’t a good company. ALL companies get complaints, it’s the manner in which they resolve them that determines their character.)
2. Are you a member of the US Chamber of Commerce?
3. Are you in good standing with Dunn and Bradstreet? (The credit agency for businesses)
4. Are your start up costs less than $200?
5. Who would be training me? (If it’s a "call center" type of call an "800 number" for help, that’s no good. You want to be trained by another business owner within the company. How can someone in a call center train you on something they themselves are not doing?)
6. How do you pay your business owners? (paper checks from a Federally Insured bank and/or direct deposit through a Federally Insured bank should be the answer. No "paypal", money orders, cash or anything like that.
7. What National Publications can I find you in? (If they have a good rep, you should be able to read up on it somewhere)
8. Do you have any Fortune 500 partners or endorsements? (If Fortune 500 companies partner with them, you can bet they are legit because Fortune 500 Companies have lawyers that make millions a year making sure they only do business with reputable companies.)
9. How long have you been in business? (Definitely should be over 5 years, over 10 is even better)
10. Do YOU own a home business with this company as well?(If the answer is no, ask for the name and number of someone you can talk to who works with the company so you can get a good feel of things. If they refuse to provide it, walk away.)

No matter what you decide, AVOID these top 5 work at home scams.

5. Craft Assembly
3. Medical Billing
3. Email/Rebate Processing
2. Envelope Stuffing
1. Typing At Home / Data Entry (The biggest scam out there.)

As a breath of fresh air, I am NOT affiliated with any home business nor do I sell anything like "home business guides" or "work at home lists". I merely offer my expertise and guidance, and yes, that’s free! :-)

As I promised, I will list some home businesses that I have found to be VERY reputable and have an A rating with the Better Business Bureau in my profile to the left.

So as to follow Yahoo’s TOS, the sites can be found only IN MY PROFILE if you would like to see them.

I wish you the best of luck in your search!
